BSPHO Clinical Trial Day 2025: Highlights

The BSPHO Clinical Trial Day 2025, held on 20 June at the Park Inn Hotel in Leuven, once again brought together BSPHO members, study coordinators, and pharmacists engaged in clinical research. This annual event serves as a valuable platform for sharing insights on academic studies, presenting interim research findings, and discussing national initiatives.

Meeting Highlights

Highlights of the Clinical Trial Day’s Agenda:

  • Annual Activity Report: The BSPHO National Coordination Cell (NCC) opened the day by presenting their annual report and providing an overview of ongoing leukemia/lymphoma trials.
  • Leukemia & Lymphoma Updates:
    • Blinatumomab in ALL Together: Presented by V. Mondelaers (UZG) and H. Segers (UZL)
    • Inter B NHL 2025 and IRNHLR: Updates by M. de Ville (CUSL)
  • AYA Cancer Statistics & Projects: R. Delvaux (Belgian Cancer Registry) presented data and initiatives related to cancer in adolescents and young adults in Belgium (2004–2022).
  • AI in Research: U. Ilan (PMC) introduced Capricorn, an AI-based tool for literature search in clinical trials.
  • Teardrop Project: L. Mus provided a comprehensive update on priorities and access regulations within the Teardrop biobank.
  • CNS Trials:
    • Overview by NCC
    • COGNITO and YC HRMB trials discussed by S. Jacobs (UZL)
  • Solid Tumor Studies:
    • Trial overview by NCC
    • Beacon 2.0 update presented by B. De Wilde (UZG)
  • Other Key Topics:
    • Haploidentical Transplantation for Sickle Cell Disease – V. Bordon (UZG)
    • Be Priority Project – K. Durinck & B. De Wilde
  • Closing Remarks: Concluding reflections delivered by A. Van Damme
