The Scientific Meeting took place on 20 September with presentations from KU Leuven, HUDERF, LHUB-ULB, and ULB. BSPHO's Scientific Meetings offer the opportunity for members and experts to hear about the latest developments in paediatric oncology through presentations but also exchange insights over a networking session.
The topics discussed at this Scientific Meeting include:
- Rhabdomyosarcoma relapse & liquid biopsy - Dr. Henry de Traux de Wardin (HUDERF) discussed using liquid biopsy for monitoring treatment response in rhabdomyosarcoma relapses.
- RH variants in sickle cell anemia - Dr. Philippe Akiki (LHUB-ULB) presented research on RH variants and rare blood groups in sickle cell anemia patients.
- Hypereosinophilia and hypereosinophilic syndrome - Dr. Sina Karimi (ULB) gave insights into hypereosinophilia and hypereosinophilic syndrome.
- Cancer-related fatigue in children post-treatment - Deveny Vanrusselt (KU Leuven) shared findings on cancer-related fatigue and its psychosocial associations in children after treatment.
