BSPHO Scientific Meeting February 2024

The first BSPHO Scientific Meeting of 2024 took place on 23 February, bringing together physicians and researchers to discuss the latest research developments in paediatric haemato-oncology.

The interactive meeting included a full agenda which featured presentations on the following:

• Clonal heterogeneity and evolution during treatment in high hyperdiploid BCP-ALL (Margo Aertgeerts - KU Leuven)

• Static, turbulent and 3D models for megakaryocyte characterisation and to promote platelet formation for disease modelling of inherited platelet disorders (Kato Ramaekers - KU Leuven)

• Diagnosing Hereditary Cancer Predisposition in Children with Cancer: preliminary result of DHECIPR study (Robin Deputter - UZ Gent)

Each presentation provoked an interactive Q&A on their respective topic, with participants sharing knowledge and ideas for further research development. The discussions continued after the presentations during a networking drink.

All presentations will be made available on the professional area of the BSPHO website.

The next Scientific Meeting will be on 20 September.

BSPHO Scientific Meetings are sponsored by the Olivia Fund. The Olivia Fund supports multiple innovative research projects in the field of paediatric cancer in order to improve the outcome and care of paediatric cancer patients. Any contribution can be of much value.
